2011 BMX National Championships

The 2011 BMX National Championships were held in Cairns, QLD. It was good having the nationals in our home state. The weather was great all week with the sun shining, expect for Thursday when it rained for the Probix and Champbix series. The track was really fast and smooth throughout the week. When it came to Saturday, my race day we had 48 riders in my age. I got three 2nd's in my motos and qualified for the quarter finals. I placed 4th in my quarter final, which was enough to get me into the semi final. I went into the semi final with positive thoughts and knowing I had to get in the top 4 to make it into the main. I was nervous on the gate, but I had a good gate and managed to come in 3rd. I was really happy that I had made the final and couldn't wait to race it. When it was time to race the final, I wasn't as nervous because I knew I was in the top 8. I didn't have the best gate start in the final, but I ended up finishing 7th overall which was an excellent result. I am hoping to improve my result next year at the national titles held at Mount Gambier, South Australia.

2010 Nationals- Shepparton, Victoria:

When I heard the track was in a town called Shepparton and it was going to be outdoors, I thought it was going to be as good as previous nationals. When I got down there and started to ride the track, it was one of the best nationals tracks I had ridden, after I changed my gearing a few times. I was surprised I didn't have any practice sessions or race days in the rain.
The first day of racing for me was Champ-bikes. I had a great time trial placing in the top 16. I got 3rd's and 2nd's in my races. I made it to the semi finals but unfortunately come 6th and missed out on the final.
The next day was my 20 inch nationals. I stayed in the top 4 in all my motos and progressed to the quarter finals.
I then raced the quarter finals and came 4th and progressed to the semi finals. I had a great 1st straight and was in the top 4. I took a bit of a hit down the second straight and I then went to the other side of the track hitting the soft dirt and not to make the final.
The final day of racing was my cruiser. It was a 15-16 yr old class so that gave me a bit of a disadvantage. I still managed to stay in the top 4 in my motos and progress into the quarter finals. I ended up 7th in the quarters and didn't make the semi's, but still a good effort.

2010
2010 Queensland State Titles
The 2010 Queensland state title were held at Mackay, Unfortunately for me I wasn't fully recovered and able to ride again due to my broken leg. The team still rode very well over the 3 days of racing. Even though I wasn't able to ride I ended up in the commentary tower commentating 3 days of racing which was still good fun.
QC Titles- Walkerston
The 2010 Queensland Country Titles were held at Walkerston. Luckily the rain has stayed away for the past few weeks, which aloud them to get a really good looking track. Unfortunately I didn't get to ride due to my broken leg. It was a good weekend of racing overall, and a good weekend of cheering for me. Congratulations to the BC Racing team for doing so well. You all put in a great effort.

Proserpine North QLD Titles
The 2010 North QLD titles were held at Proserpine on the 30 & 31st of May. The weather was good all weekend and the rain stayed away. I raced pro open and age. By the end of the first day of racing I had placed 4th, 3rd, 4th, 3rd, 5th. In age I had placed 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 1st, 2nd. I went back down to the track on Sunday for the next day of racing, but unfortunately had a bad crash in practice and went home with a broken leg which possibly will keep me off the BMX track for the rest of the year.
